Literature Text

There was a man
Who thought to walk the world.
Then he met her
And out came terrors unseen,
The world that seemed so small
Now quite grand.
She'd laid to rest his plans.
Where death once seemed so trivial
Now every second mattered.
If the man he was
Seen the man he is,
He would laugh and jest,
Then move along to the next unknown.
When the man he is
recalls the man he was,
The path behind laid bare,
The valleys and peaks
The rough and ruined
The path he walked.
It ended abruptly, at this fair point,
Smooth as glass.
He mills about,
Not a care in the world.
The was a man
Who thought to walk the world.
When he met her,
It all seemed to big.
